Winter Fun Day – Friday, February 20
We are busy planning an exciting day of winter fun for our students on February 20th. The day runs better with more adults and is also a great time for you to come hang out with our school community. If you have your volunteer checks updated and are interested in helping out on this day, please contact our PE teacher – Mr. Vital Renaud.
I Love to Read Month
February is I Love to Read month. We have planned some special activities for this month to highlight literacy and especially the importance of finding joy in reading. Activities will include some special guest readers, an assembly with Corny Rempel from Mix 96, a used book swap, Who Am I? Book character contest and a school-wide House Team event.
Lost and Found
Please remember to label your child’s winter outerwear. Toques, mittens and ski pants end up in Lost and Found, if they are labeled, it is easier to return them to their owner.

Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open. The registration process will take place online at HSD.ca. If you do not have access to the internet, please visit our school, and we will assist you in completing the registration form on a school computer.
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible. Registering early will assist our school in preparation and planning for the upcoming school year. Early registration also provides parents/guardians with the opportunity to participate in upcoming orientation activities.
Children must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2026 to be eligible for 2026/27 registration and are required to attend the school within the catchment area in which they reside. After completing the online registration, you will receive a follow up email outlining the documents that need to be provided to the school to finalize the registration.
Once registration requirements are complete, we will begin kindergarten planning here at LES for the next year, and you will be contacted in spring with details about Kindergarten orientation.
