It has been a great first couple of days here at Landmark Elementary. The students are learning the routines and getting used to being back at school. We had our first assembly for the year and are all getting to know each other.

Strong Connections for Grade One to Six students will occur on Friday, September 12th, and Monday, September 15th. For Strong Connections, half of our students will attend school on September 12th and half on September 15th. You should have received an email with the date your child is to attend school and the date they will stay home. Please contact the school at 204-355-4663 or les@hsd.ca if you have any questions.

Kindergarten students are not part of Strong Connections and will attend school on Friday and Monday.

Orange Shirt Day Assembly- September 29, 2025 at 9 am

We will recognize Orange Shirt Day on September 29 at 9 am with an assembly. We will be welcoming the Mason Hoop Dancers once again and parents/guardians are invited to come join us for this assembly.  Students are encouraged to wear orange shirts for the day.

Nut Aware Notice:

There are children in our school who have a severe allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. Exposure to even a tiny amount of this item could be potentially serious and life-threatening. We can all play a role in making school a safe place for these students.  For this reason, we are a “Nut Aware” school. We do not describe the school as being “Nut Free” because we can’t guarantee that students or adults have not brought nuts or traces of nuts into the building. Please help us keep all our students safe by checking the list of ingredients on items you send to school and avoid sending any items that contain peanuts or tree nuts.

School Nutrition

Food is brain fuel! It is important for kids to eat well in order to learn. If for some reason your family is finding it hard to fill lunch kits for your children, please connect with our school office and we would be happy to help you!

In addition, all classes will have fruit bins available that students can access to supplement the lunch/snack that are sent from home.

Grade 2 Swimming

LES has been given the fall timeframe for Grade 2 swimming lessons. These lessons start Sept 23. We are in need of some additional parent volunteers for these Tuesday afternoon trips. If you have your volunteer paperwork completed and are able to help out with some supervision please connect with the office. We are in a tight turnaround to complete volunteer paperwork so any parents (even outside of Gr 2) who have the volunteer paperwork done would be welcome to join us.

PTA – Parent Teacher Association

The PTA will hold its yearly Annual General Meeting on Monday, September 22, at 5:00pm at Landmark Collegiate. At the AGM, Landmark Elementary, Landmark Collegiate and the PTA will present reports that include priorities for the upcoming school year.

The PTA is a committee representing Landmark Elementary School and Landmark Collegiate. It consists of the principals, teachers from both schools, and parent representatives. The PTA is looking for parents or guardians to join its committee. If you are interested, please contact the schools or email landmarkpta@gmail.com. Joining the PTA is an excellent way to engage in your child’s education.
