Dear parents and guardians,

This Thursday, May 15th, we are having a French presentation in the afternoon for our grades 5 and 6.  Mrs. Krisko’s grade 4s are also participating.  The performance is Circo Balanzo by Aytahn Ross, sponsored by the Canadian Parents for French Manitoba. The show has juggling + balancing + physicality and is about 45 minutes long and some time for questions.

Reminder that there is no school this coming Monday, May 19th because of the Victoria Long Weekend.

Kindergarten Welcome is happening on Tuesday, May 20th.

Talent Show

As you may have already heard from your child, Landmark Elementary School is planning a L.E.S. Has Talent! Event on May 30 at 2:35. All students and staff at LES are invited to participate in sharing their talents with the school! This is a fun, non-competitive event to celebrate the many talents within our school community.

Talents can include (but are not limited to) music, drama, gymnastics, athletics, ‘magic’ tricks, skits, etc. All talents MUST be school appropriate (culturally sensitive, and non-violent, and no inappropriate language or gestures).

All preparations for performance must be done outside of regular school time.  Props and special equipment or costumes must be provided by the performers.

In order to enter the talent show, interested students must ask for an orange entry form from Ms. Gordon or their classroom teacher. This form must be completed and handed in to Ms. Gordon or their homeroom teacher no later than Friday, May 23.

Feel free to contact Ms. Gordon or Ms. Schmidtke with any questions.

Thank you!

Kim Gordon (kgordon@hsd.ca)

Janice Schmidtke (jschmidtke@hsd.ca)

At LES we collect:

– pop can tabs for wheelchairs, check out this link for some information about how one of Hanover’s students received a wheelchair through this program.

– batteries for recycling

– used glasses for the Lions Club International

You can find these collection bins in front of our school office.
