Indigenous Education

As we continue learning about the Indigenous Peoples of Canada at Landmark Elementary School, we will be spending the day learning with Josh Dueck on Thursday, March 7th. Josh is a member of the Fisher River Cree Nation. Josh works in Student Services at Steinbach Bible College doing various roles, including serving as the Indigenous Student Advisor. He and his family have spent considerable time on the land. He will be working with each class to teach them about the fur bearing animals that we have in Manitoba and the important role they play in contributing to a healthy ecosystem. He ties this learning in with the fact that each person has gifts, skills and strengths that they too, can offer the world to make it a better place.
